Beyond Grateful

1 Peter 1:3-4 (MSG) What a God we have!  And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus!  Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven – and the future starts now!

Let’s keep digging…

I encourage you to make time to identify your most grateful things – those that make your heart swell and evoke tears of appreciation.  For some, they may be mixed with salty sweet tears of grief.

We are certainly grateful for all of God’s blessings, but how about God Himself?

I am beyond grateful to worship a God who cares about me, a small blip in His larger story.  The God of the universe created all people, and me in particular, so that He could love me and I Him.  He graciously lets me choose to whether or not to return His love.

My Father is perfection and glory beyond imagination!  And yet He invites a messed up girl like me into His presence.  My God left heaven, limited Himself within a human body, and died a brutal death so I would be presentable to the Father.

Jesus knows every corner of my heart – my resentment, judgment, disobedience, and hatred - and loves me anyway.  I don’t deserve His forgiveness.  Nor can I earn His love.  God came down from heaven to get me and is overjoyed that I have taken hold of His hand.

My heart sings praises of joy for my God.  (tweet this)

You are blessed with the same amazing God.  Let your heart swell in His embrace.

Like a productive garden, a rich relationship should be tended regularly.  To be reminded to plant His Word in your heart, follow me on Twitter @Cathy_Chung or subscribe at Seeds of Scripture.
