Vanilla or Chocolate?

Psalm 28:1-2 (NLT) To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me.  For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.  Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

I’ll get right to the point.

I’ve been struggling with depression lately.  It’s been hard to write.

I know He is with me.  I know His love is constant.  I know He uses all things for good.  I know.  It’s still not easy.

I’m glad biblical characters also suffered depression.  David prayed to God from his own pit and clung to the Rock.  He cried out “my soul is in anguish” and from personal experience wrote “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”  I wonder if David ate ice cream.

I will praise God through the storm and trust Him to guide me out.

And while I wait, vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup? (tweet this)

  1. It is a comfort to know that whatever "affliction" we gave there is someone somewhere in the bible that has encountered it as well. I'd even add whipped cream as well!

    1. Yes, the biblical characters were real - and God brought them through to the other side.

I'm not a whipped cream kind of gal. I settled for 2 bowls of plain vanilla bean - my favorite.
