No Doubt

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.
Hebrews 10:35-36(NLT)

Are you sure of Jesus’ resurrection?

As a percentage, how certain are you that Jesus rose from the dead?

You might answer differently, but I’m 100% certain. I have no doubt.

So… this man - who claimed to be God and predicted His suffering, death, and resurrection - rose to life after 3 days. If I believe this 100%, doesn’t it put an exclamation point on every word He spoke? Doesn’t it punctuate every instruction and promise?

Which of Jesus’ words come to mind?

I am with you always. Do not fear. In this life you will have trouble. Everything is possible for him who believes. Don’t let your hearts be troubled; trust in God.

Since I’m 100% certain that Jesus lives, shouldn’t I live with complete trust? Theoretically, I don’t have to fear because He’s by my side. I can do whatever He calls me to do because of my confidence in Him. I certainly fall short.

Does your life reflect your level of belief? How can we increase our confidence in Him?

PS: Do Not Sin will be the @AndyStanley sermon we watch and discuss Sept 30th. We’ll learn what Jesus meant and how it’s possible to obey. All are welcome from 7-9pm at UCC Medfield.

  1. Love this. We should ask ourselves this every day. To increase our confidence we should be memorizing Scripture. John 1 states that Jesus is the Word in flesh. We grow to know Him more when His Word is in us. Thank you for this.

    1. Ah yes, memorizing scripture. People resist memorizing, but how else will the appropriate words come to mind when needed? Putting His word in our hearts is one way to keep Him close always. You're such a dedicated reader, Cherrilynn. I appreciate that!
