I'll Be Praising Him

The Sea of Galilee

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness.
Let the whole world know what He has done.
Sing to Him; yes, sing His praises.
Tell everyone about His wonderful deeds.
1 Chronicles 16:8-9 (NLT)

I felt God strongly during our boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Perhaps it is because Jesus called His disciples and did most of His public ministry and miracles in this area, including the Sermon on the Mount and feeding the 5,000. People welcomed Him here. In Jerusalem he was in conflict with the Temple leaders and fearful of drawing crowds that would alert/invite/bring on Roman oppression.

Perhaps it’s because the area is so beautiful. I often find God in nature, especially lakeside. The fertile volcanic soil produces a lush green environment as opposed to the dry wilderness that makes up the southern two-thirds of the country.

Praising God on the Sea of Galilee
Perhaps it was the community of believers. There is something powerful about singing praise to God with raised hands among 125 others who love Him with all their hearts and mean every word of the lyrics. God was on the boat with us; we felt His presence.

I closed my eyes and turned my palms upward to receive Him. I felt awash in warmth and light, swollen with His peace and joy, and so grateful for the trip, the people, the guides and God. I was an intimate moment with Him who knows my heart, while together we proclaimed His greatness. Amen! Hallelujah!

Sea of Galilee - fish nibbled my feet
Here’s my Thanksgiving challenge. First, remember and praise God for the ways He has worked in your life. Then tell someone about His wonderful deeds.
