Israel - God Provides

The Via Delorosa
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

God always provides what we need to do His work.

In the Old Testament, when Moses led the Israelites out of slavery, He instructed them to ask the Egyptians for gold, silver and jewels. When God later gave Moses instructions for the Tabernacle, they had everything they needed, including skilled craftsmen.

God prepares each one of us for the assignment He created us for. Hardships give us empathy to guide and comfort those facing similar situations. Experiences accumulate in a resume that God can put to good use.

In hindsight I see how God guided and prepared me for writing this blog.

My favorite childhood pastime was playing school. I loved teaching my dolls, debating grammar with my mother, diagramming sentences (yes, it's true), writing, and studying. Although I didn't pursue a degree in education, I fulfilled these interests by teaching Sunday school and taking Bible study.

Pastor Liz recognized this gift and encouraged me to become a study leader for adults. After 8 times leading a class that covered the entire Bible, as well as a variety of other studies, God directed me to encourage people to engage with His Word by writing.

God gave me a passion for learning and teaching and prepared me with leadership skills and Biblical knowledge. He helped me conquer my fears of public ministry and put people in my life to teach me the technical nuts and bolts.

God provided and guided.

Looking back, can you see that God prepared you for a particular task? Would you encourage others by sharing your story?

What experiences, skills and knowledge have you gathered that God might use for His purpose?
