Your Driving Force

Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Mark 12:29-31 (NLT)

What’s our driving force? On what do we base our decisions? Who are we becoming?

It’s always good to remind ourselves of what is most important – to peel the layers away to reveal and examine our core. Is God at the center? Or is it family, safety, convenience, wealth, security, or something else?

Jesus says our love for God needs to be at the core. Nothing is more important than loving Him with our entire being.

Should we ignore our education, jobs, and daily responsibilities and instead preach Jesus in the town center? Some might be called to preach, but for most of us it’s maintaining perspective. Loving God means loving what He loves and using our resources (heart, soul, mind, and strength) to advance His goals.

In a God centered life, everything we do contributes toward bringing His Kingdom to this world - eradicating hunger, poverty, disease, discrimination, and war while spreading the Good News of His love and forgiveness.
