A God-incidence

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28 (NLT)

Let me share a recent God-incidence - a coincidence that is actually the non-random hand of God. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I’m always blown away when God gets involved in the details.

My friend, Kathleen and I volunteered to don official, yet adorable, orange pinafore aprons and encourage Hillsong United concert goers to sponsor Syrian refugees.

In uniform and awaiting training, I texted madly to learn where friends attending the concert would be sitting. Their response came back – Section F6 – but unfortunately, the volunteer coordinator didn’t take requests. Darn! So Kathleen and I looked at each other and said “we’ll leave it to God”. Yes, we said it out loud.

The organizers passed through the 50+ eager, orange clad volunteers, sending them out to stadium seating assignments. The remaining 15 of us would work the floor. More workers were dispatched to sections near the stage and runway. Kathleen and I still remained. Our half of the final 8 volunteers would handle the rear floor on the right – Section F6.

Assigned last, yet perfectly.

Can you believe that of the 50+ volunteers and the 7,200 seats, God reserved Section F6 for us? Kathleen and I looked around the vast, empty stadium in awe. Surprised, but not surprised, delighted by His grace in fulfilling our whimsical hope.

Every God-incidence reminds me that God works in big and small ways. He cares deeply about every aspect of our lives. We had a simple hope that was beyond our control. We spoke our desire and He heard us.

God works in the details of our lives. (tweet it)
