How to Be Transformed

These instructions are not empty words – they are your life! By obeying them you will enjoy a long life in the land you will occupy.
Deuteronomy 32:47 (NLT)

Have you transitioned to fall smoothly?

It’s been hard for me.

My summer was exhausting rather than refreshing. I needed a few days to ignore my things-to-do list and take care of myself. It worked. I feel energetic.

Now it’s back to basics with Seeds of Scripture. I am a perpetual student who some would call a nerd. But God gave me a passion for His Word and the spiritual gift of teaching. So let’s study and learn together, but first…

I have a confession to make. I used to think the Bible was boring. You too?

As a good student, I memorized key verses and tried to read through from the beginning. But honestly, after the Parting of the Red Sea and the Ten Commandments, the rules for washing, eating and animal sacrifice and the battles against people with hard-to-pronounce names is pretty tough reading.

The Bible came to life for me when I joined a group study. With a readable translation, daily assignments, and thought provoking discussion, it finally made sense.

And it changed my life.

My passion increased as I met God - a real, powerful, trustworthy God who reveals Himself through His Word and Jesus. The Bible tells a love story in which you and I are the beloved. And amazingly, His Word continues to speak in relevant ways as we ‘hold firmly to the Word of life’ (Philippians 2:16).

I believe studying scripture will change your life. (tweet this)

Will you join a study group and/or subscribe to Seeds for regular reflection?

    1. Thanks Hillary. This fall I've started seminary. I have a long commute so I'm listening to the OT. I chose a dramatic reading which is bringing the Bible to life in a new way for me.

    2. Hillary, I'm curious how you discovered this post from a year ago. It was a great reminder for me that the Word is essential in my life.
