Learn from the Best Instructor

This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.”
Isaiah 48:7(NLT)

The kids are back to school and adjusting to new teachers. What’s his or her style and expectations? How strict? How interactive? How much homework?

What about us moms and dads? Are we continuing our education? Yes. Whether we realize it or not, we are.

We continually learn how to use new electronic gadgets, the names of those we meet, a dozen ways to wear a scarf, healthy recipes, instructions for clever DIY projects, the positions of political candidates, and the best price for gas. We even learn new words like photobomb and lifehack.

Can we name our teachers?

Are they trustworthy experts who provide a quality education?

What’s our goal?

If you answered Pinterest or the evening news and your goal resembles anything like ‘a productive, comfortable life’, you are selling yourself way short. Life in the Spirit is an amazing adventure.

God has big plans for you – a most fulfilling life!

But God must be our primary instructor. All others fool us into thinking this world can satisfy. God sees the whole picture when we only glimpse a small piece. He knows our purpose and how to get there.

So pull out your Bible, make a cover from a brown paper grocery bag (just kidding), grab a notebook, pen and Bible highlighter (wax pencil), and let’s get to work.

The Creator of the Universe is ready to teach and lead you.

The Lord our God is the #BestTeacherEver. (tweet this)

When do you follow the world’s teaching instead of God’s instruction?
